1 Corinthians 6:20 — For you have been bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body.
When I was 16, I asked my father “can I get a car when I turn 17 like ALL THE OTHER KIDS.”
He said with a chuckle, “REALLY!?!? ALL the other kids have cars? As long as you can afford to buy a car and maintain it, you can have one.”
So I got a part-time job and started saving. But the funny thing is, when I had earned enough to buy a (VERY) used car, I decided the car was not worth the money I had worked so hard to earn.
Amazingly, when it came to paying for man’s salvation, God did not consider any price too high. He demonstrated that by sending Jesus, His One and Only Son, to become a man. He then allowed Jesus to endure persecution, torture and a horribly excruciating death on a cross. All to pay the punishment for our sins, that we could never pay ourselves.
Galatians 3:13 — Christ bought us with His blood and made us free from the Law.
Ephesians 1:7 — In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace.
If we trust in Jesus’ sacrifice as the full and complete payment for our sins, we are forgiven of all of them. There is nothing more we need to do.
2 Corinthians 12:9 … He said to me, “My grace is enough for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.”
By trusting in Him, we are adopted by God into His eternal family.
2 Corinthians 6:18 … “I will be a Father to you, and you will be My sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.”
So, stop striving to be “good enough” for God. We can never earn His forgiveness. He asks only that we repent from our sins and TRUST Him.
Psalm 89:52 — Blessed be the Lord forever! Amen and Amen.
