1. Does God really love me?

2. How do I know if He does?

3. How do I know how much He loves me?

God tells us over and over in His Word just how much He loves us.

Psalm 103:11 — For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is His steadfast love toward those who fear Him;

Jeremiah 31:3 — The Lord appeared to him from far away. I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore I have continued My faithfulness to you.

We struggle with understanding God’s love, because we compare it to earthly love.  Most of us had a first love, one who we thought the world revolved around.  But as time passed, more than likely those feelings also passed.  We have all been hurt by someone who professed to love us, perhaps even a parent has hurt us.  If our parent could hurt us, than we tell ourselves anyone could.  But God is not just anyone, He is our creator.

Ephesians 2:10 — For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

How much does He love us, friends?  More than we could ever comprehend.

Psalm 36:5 — Your steadfast love, O Lord, extends to the heavens, Your faithfulness to the clouds.

Luke 12:7 — Why, even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not; you are of more value than many sparrows.

The more important questions may be;

1. How much do we love God?

Luke 10:27 — And He answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.”

John 14:21 — Whoever has My commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.”

2. Why should we love God?

1 John 4:19 — We love because He first loved us.

Romans 5:8 — But God shows His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Be blessed friends!!
